L'amoxicilline trihydratée, également appelée hydroxybenzylpénicilline trihydratée ou hydroxyaminobenzylpénicilline trihydratée, appartient à la famille des pénicillines semi-synthétiques à large spectre, possédant le même spectre antibactérien, la même action et les mêmes applications que l'ampicilline.
Application:
L'amoxicilline trihydratée est un antibiotique semi-synthétique synthétisé artificiellement à partir de pénicilline naturelle. C'est un homologue hydroxyle de l'ampicilline. Plus couramment utilisé que la pénicilline injectable traditionnelle, il possède une activité antibactérienne plus forte contre les bactéries Gram négatives. Grâce à sa forte acido-résistance, son bon effet bactéricide, son large spectre antibactérien, sa grande solubilité dans l'eau et ses diverses formes galéniques, il est largement utilisé en expérimentation clinique vétérinaire.
